| Furtados opens exclusive music store in Dimapur |

src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">  DIMAPUR AUG 17: Additional Chief Secretary Alemtemshi Jamir, well known for his flair in music today inaugurated the first exclusive music showroom of Furtados in the North East at Aiko building, opposite Super Market, Dimapur. Director and Owner of Furtados Joseph Gomes and Managing Director Philip Rodriques were also present at the grand inauguration today. This exclusive show room is the venture of the five Tsuzu sisters and houses the world’s best brand in all musical instruments and also a wide range of music books and printed music sheets. ‘What is happening here is another milestone for Nagaland and speaks of the dynamism in motion that music is taking over...’ the chief guest during the inauguration said. While pointing out that music is a part of process under which society can be moved, Jamir attributed the present DAN ruling government in their effort to promote music as an industry beginning with the establishment of the Music Task Force. He also informed that the state government was mulling over on the aspects of promoting local musicians through financial assistance, production of CDs etc. ‘The government is trying to see how far music can be the livelihood for the youngsters, he maintained. Jamir also felt that perhaps it is time that local musicians start thinking about the direction in which Nagaland can grow and likewise provide inputs in correcting the situation during such a crucial moment as now.’ ‘It’s time Nagas redefine their thinking with focus on the true concept of freedom and towards this end, music can do a lot in help define the system,’ he elucidated. In a short address, Director and Owner of Furtados Joseph Gomes said Furtados is all about passion for music and aspire in building the music community here. Philip Rodrigues, Managing Director said Furtados is not only about opening stores but also about investing and promoting music. “We are very much interested in investing and promoting music, promote young musicians so that their music is heard all across the country.’ Going 144 years of music legacy, Furtados was established in 1865 and has over the years built a nation-wide reputation in the import and distribution of music sheet, musical instrument and accessories.
